2023 Family Application Statuses
Applications are listed in the order applications they have been received / processed.
If it has been 72 hours since you completed a form on our website, and your email address / initials are not listed below - then we have NOT received a pre-application from you at this time.
Only partial email addresses and initials of the applicant are shown for the privacy of our applicants.
How our Application Process Works:
Once your pre-application is received, your family's previous application history (from past years) has been reviewed, and your eligibility is determined - we will send you an email with details on how and where to fill out the long form application. Once your LONG FORM application is complete, we can review our ability to assist your family (according to your family's needs versus our available donations).
We thank all our applicants for their patience and understanding during this process. We are working very hard to process all the applications, to review our donations and to make every attempt to match those donations with the families we serve.
WHAT DOES EACH STATUS MEAN?
Received; Not Yet Reviewed - This means that we have received your preapplication or your full application, but our team has not yet had the time to fully review it, to make a determination, to speak to references, etc. We typically process pre-applications every 24-72 hours, and full applications are constantly being reviewed, so please keep coming back to check - the time and date beside your email & name will update everytime work has been done on your application.
Received; Eligible - This means that we received a pre-application from a family, and that family meets our basic criteria - they have at least one child under 11, they reside in our service area, and we are in the process of sending them a full application which we will then review once it's been received. Getting a pre-application to us, and having it marked "ELLIGIBLE" - DOES NOT mean that your family will receive assistance. It's VERY IMPORTANT that you reply to all follow-up emails, and that you fill out the long-form application that you'll receive once we've determined that your family is eligible.
Received; Ineligible - This means we received a pre-application from a family, but that family was not eligible for assistance - either because we have already helped their family within the last 5 years, or because they do not have any children under the age of 9, or because the family lives too far from our service area for us to be able to assist them.
Reviewed; On Waitlist - This means a family is waiting for enough donations to be collected for us to offer them assistance.
Received; In Review - This means that an application has been received and is currently under review.
Application Timed Out - This means a family applied, but then did not get back to us with necessary information that we requested.
Sent / Not Yet Received - This means that your family has met the basic pre-application eligibility, we have sent you a link to complete the full detailed, extended application (which asks for things such as the clothing sizes and wish lists for each of the members of your family). Because this much longer application can take a great deal of time to complete, we pre-approve families so that those who do not qualify do not have to waste a ton of time filling out this extremely detailed document. If your application status says that we have SENT you full application information, but that we have NOT YET RECEIVED a reply -it means just that- that we are waiting for you to complete the detailed application and we will update the status once we have received it.
Assistance Declined By Applicant - This means the family was offered assistance, but chose not to accept it. They may have received help from another source before hearing back from us.
THIS STATUS PAGE DOES NOT AUTO-UPDATE.
Your application must be received, reviewed and THEN this site is updated by a live human volunteer regularly throughout
the holiday season. It will not update with your status immediately after you hit "SEND". As we get especially close to the
distribution of donations- updates to the website often slow down / stop until after Christmas, as we're too busy to update
any further.
Skip the Wait: PREFERENCE IS BEING GIVEN TO FAMILIES WHO ARE FULLY VACCINATED!
Vaccination is going to be the thing that leads us towards a safer and happier future - therefor, we are showing sponsorship preference to families whose members - Adults, Kids 16+ AND Kids ages 5+, are vaccinated against Covid-19. If you ARE currently vaccinated - we will give you the opportunity to share the vaccination cards for your adult family members, and your family will be moved to the TOP of our waiting list. We understand that it takes time to get fully vaccinated - we will accept a FIRST vaccination or a single-dose vaccination to move your family up. We do not require that you've completed the full set of vaccines before you'll be considered: So ACT NOW! |
If you are NOT currently vaccinated - PLEASE GET VACCINATED. Your choice to vaccinate could mean a healthy AND happy holiday for your family.
It's FREE - it's available everywhere. We will even help you make an appointment, just reach out via text and we will find you a location and you can get vaccinated free of charge. If you get vaccinated - we will move your family to the top of our wait list, so your kids are next in line for sponsorship. Want to let us know you recently got vaccinated? Email us a photo of your vaccination card today - and we'll move you to the front of the line! In order to be eligible - ALL adults in your home must be vaccinated. |
Go get your kids vaccines done as well! (Even newborns are now eligible!) - so get them scheduled ASAP!

2023 Sponsored Families:
Please Note: Assigned Family #'s DO NOT have anything to do with the order in which applications were received.
Family #1
Mother, 36 Father, 41 Daughter, 9 Daughter, 10* Daughter, 11 Daughter, 13 From Upper Darby, PA The family's bio will be updated soon. Dad, unfortunately has terminal cancer, and mom is recently recovering from Breast Cancer (and is thankfully cancer free now). The family's 10 year old daughter is proufoundly disabled and requires around the clock nursing care. The family has been assisted by Project Christmas in the past, and were invited to be a sponsored family this holiday season. We will be getting more info about what the girls need & would like. The family dealt with a serious roof leak this sumner and lost much of thier storaged items, including thier Christmas tree & decor, and most of thier coats and warm hats/gloves/scarves etc. Any help would ve appreciated. Mom LOVES coffee and the family would love to get her some coffee related "goodies" to go with the new coffee pot Project Chrismas gave the family. All of the girls would REALLY love & appreciate clothing (new/gently used is GREAT!) - as well as hair care, makeup and other self-care items! (We'd also love to be able to give mom a gift certificate to get a massage or her hair / nails done in the area near the family in Upper Darby, PA. Learn more about this Family by going to this page. |
Family #2
Mother, 24 Father, 24 Son, Age 5 months Son, Age 2* From Salem County New Jersey The family has been struggling ever since the pregnancy and birth of their second child. The pregnancy was extremely difficult and her health was severely compromised. As a result of her fragile health, she missed so much work that she lost her job, putting the family into a difficult financial situation. They fell months behind on both their rent and bills. Because she was working for a small family business, they had no obligation to hold her position for her, and after the birth of their son was just as precarious as the pregnancy, Mom has been trying to focus on her recovery despite their financial needs and her strong desire to return to work even though she really, medically, can not work right now. Her husband is picking up as many hours as possible, but his wife also VERY much needs his help at home -it's an impossible position. The family is struggling this holiday both emotionally and financially and are very grateful to have been sponsored by Project Christmas this year. They are also currently hoping for help through their church, in hopes that they will be able to get their heat turned back on because they are currently only able to heat the one area of their home affected by their wood stove. Family #3
Mother, 38 Daughter, 19 Neice, 16 Daughter, 4 years* (Deaf) Son, 9 years Daughter, 11 years (Deaf) Neice, 11 years Grandson, 14 months 2 Cats, 1 Dog, 1 Turtle & a Parakeet From Westmont, NJ Family #3 is new to New Jersey. They moved here after the death of the family's father, having lost him to Covid in 2022, which he contracted while battling lung cancer. Reeling from thier loss, the family is starting over, with help from relatives. They still have subatantial medical bills and are trying to get thier family on solid ground after such a devistating loss. The family's home is deeply in disrepair and they are struggling to repair thier home's heater which needs to be replaced - a bill they just cant afford on top of trying to give the family a Christmas this year. Two of the children are profoundly deaf and the entire family speak ASL, but their Neice (16) who recently came to live with the family would love books on ASL as she's still learning! Learn more about this Family by going to this page. |
Family #4 Mother, 40 Father, 44 Daughter, 11 Daughter, 9 Daughter, 8 years Son, 6 years 1 Pit-Mix Rescue Dog, 1 Beagle Mix From Woodbury, NJ Family #4 lives in Woodbury, New Jersey. The couple are currently struggling with financially difficult times after mom's job was lost when her company closed last year. She went back to school to become a nurse, but the family is struggling on ome income while she works hard to go back to focus on a career she has always wanted but didnt think was possible because a bad car accident in 2012 left Mom with three broken bones in her left foot & leg, and she only recently has been feeling physically better after 2 surgeries to repair the leg that had never healed correctly. Now, she is hopeful that if they can get by until she finishes school, mom really hopes this new career will really be the key to her feeling fulfilled, as shes wanted to be an EMT or nurse since she was young. Dad has fragile type 1 diabetes and has had recurring hospital stays due to very high blood sugar despite his best efforts to eat healthy. Most recentlu, he's missed work and had to take unpaid leave for several weeks, but he is back to work, trying to catch up on the family's bills. The families three daughters are big doll enthusiests who watch "My Froggy Stuff" and LOVE thier 18" / American Girl dolls. (They collect and 'rehab' second hand dolls by giving them new wigs, cleaning them and sewing clothes for thier dolls). Grandmom is a big support for the girls and is teaching the girls to sew when she babysits after school! The girls share a doll house that they built from book shelves and all three girls would love ANYTHING for thier doll house & dolls- like shoes, clothes (or even new friends- second hand dolls would be totally great, although the youngest daughter shares a name with the current American Girl "doll of the year" and mom says if she were able to get the Lila doll, she would be "so thrilled that it wouldnt matter even if that was the ONLY thing she gets this year - so we're hoping to be able to make that happen. Thier youngest, thier only son, loves to set up "shop" and he runs a "store" where his sisters dolls all shop! He also loves to help Grandma in their kitchen- and he'd love cookie cutters, and baking supplies because he loves making cookies. The family recently lost thier 17 year old cat, Ginger, to cancer and it has upset all four kids who loved thier orange tabby SO much. All of the kids have asked for orange kitty stuffed animals, and a pretty rock or sculpture for thier garden where Ginger was burried, so they can remember the kitty who they are missing very much. Family #5
Mom, 35 Mama, 38 Daughter, 10 Daughter, 8 (and a half! - we were told) 1 Cat Living in Wildwood, New Jersey A newly blended family, 'Mom' & 'Mama' (as they like to be called, to help keep track of whos being called!) were married in early 2023. The family is originally from Cape May Courthouse, but moved recently as Mom started a new job as a Dental Technician, which she loves! Mama is currently recovering from surgery for endometriosis which has been VERY painful living with for many years, but shes hopeful that the surgery could finally make it possible for her to return to work full time. The family's adjusting to thier new smaller apartment where the girls are newly sharing a bedroom but they are "very excited to get to live so close to the boardwalk" as they are both self-described "beach bums" who grew up in Cape May playing in the sand ALL DAY every day from the moment its warm enough, until the cold comes each fall! Both girls play soccer (Mama coaches both girl's teams- they hope to be on the se team next Spring.) "Big Sis" would like new goalie gloves / a purple goalkeeper shirt as shes a very dedicated goalie. The family had a pretty rough 2023 - having had two AWFUL car related incidents - neither that was thier fault! In March, a faulty repair issue caused thier starter to "get stuck"- causing a fire in the car that was inside the carport/garage of thier home- the fire badly damaged their garage and thier mom's bedroom, causing significant smoke damage to the rest of thier home. The family lost all of thier holiday decor and supplies because of the fire doing so much damage to thier garage/storage area. They lost a LOT of other stored belongings including clothing, sports equipment, a lot of the girls Monster High dolls that had been handed down from Mom's collection. (thier cat also got out and was thought to POSSIBLY be lost forever- but she was thankfully found safe -all the way in PENNSYLVANIA- many months later! The fire that totaled the car also lead to them having to move so major repairs could be done on the house. They had been living with family in a shared home but the fire forced them to uproot. Only 9 WEEKS after moving on from the fire - and buying a new car for the first ever time for 'Mama'- the family was returning from a trip to Ohio to see family members - when they hit a DEER on the PA turnpike - and the crash was even WORSE than the fire! They were going almost 70 mph when a truck beside them hit a LARGE deer- sending it CAREENING through the car's windshield. Both women sustained some nasty injuries (Mom broke her nose and lost two front teeth- she believes it was from the deer coming through the windscreen- but their small SUV spun out- hitting the center barrier before they were hit AGAIN by a car that had been behind them- and it could have been from the airbags as well! Thankfully, they were all okay - but the NEW car was totaled and all four ladies had injuries from the crash. WORSE -they hadn't bought GAP insurance...they had only made ONE payment on the 2022 SUV.... and now their SECOND car in as many months was ALSO totaled - and they still owe almost $14,400 not covered by their insurance payout. (They DO credit their Suburu "Sally" for saving all of their lives- but owing a HUGE bill for a car they no longer have, has put the family in a HARD place, as they've been struggling to find another vehicle as they cant afford to finance another car and the two incidents (plus the unexpected medical & dental bills as a result). The family was referred to Project Christmas by one of the girl's teachers who has been a long time donor to our project! As for Christmas; The family lost ALL of their Christmas decor in the fire and the girl would love "a ton of Christmas lights" and "any Christmas Gnomes" as the family collected Christmas gnome themed decor for years. (The girls literally spent twice as long talking about hoping for "new gnomes" than about actual TOYS they might want! So ANY led Xmas lights & any holiday gnome decor would really MAKE their holiday! Both of the girls love dolls - especially Monster High, Rainbow High & Barbie (the whole family saw the Barbie movie on opening night and Mom says her wife and the girls are "completely Barbie obsessed". They had been gifted a ton of old Monster High dolls that they LOVED, that were sadly lost in the fire - and any second hand older Monster High dolls or playsets in decent condition would be really amazing/helpful! Both girls also love American Girl / Journey Girls (18" d0lls,) Both sisters each have one real AG doll that they got as gifts when their moms got married in NYC. (Big sis has Melody and Little Sis says Claudie is her "mini me" - Mom says the doll "looks exactly like her"). The girls really want to have a "doll themed" bedroom with bunkbeds (they currently have mattresses om their floor- we're working on bunk beds for the family if you know anyone who has a set to donate!! They are hoping for shelves to display their dolls on, or maybe a doll house / doll furniture. The girls both really want a gift card for Home Depot so they can repaint their bedroom pink. They are also asking for Miniverse Make it Mini food toys, Minibrands, Lol Surprise, OMG or Bratz - really "anything" miniature or doll related! Both girls wear a size 10/12 girls - and size 3 shoes and they love sharing their clothes. They both love "girly" clothes and want "girly, fun" decor for their bedroom. Big Sis is obsessed with Taylor Swift (she "really really really wants the Taylor sweater really bad" - and Little Sis is really into building Lego Friends sets - especially the animal related sets, like the ones with puppies & horses. Family #6
- Mom - Son, Age 13 months Son, Age 4 years Family #-6 is from Glassboro, NJ. Mom left a toxic relationship and is starting over with her two kids. She now lives back at home in a small apartment over her parents' garage, but she is very proud to have overcome many challenges, including daily struggles with ADHD and Autism both of which she was diagnosed with this year. She is currently "learning who she is" in therapy (which she "reccomends highly for literally everyone!") and she's feeling really optomistic. She's an editor for children's textbooks, and shes thinking about writing her own story book for kids. Her sons are 4 and 19 months old, and they are both "high energy kids who never ever EVER sleep". (We feel for you mom!) Mom really needs a new winter coat and a blender because hers broke and both kids love smoothies! Both boys love trucks and cobstruction equioment, dinosaurs and the show PJ Masks, Super Why & Paw Patrol.
